THE BOTTLETREE STORY

A traveler in the rural South can occasionally see empty bottles hung on tree limbs, an example of strange and beautiful Folk Art. The bottletree tradition is traced back to African American slaves who believed that the evil spirits would be trapped in the bottles and then destroyed by the sunlight the next day.

The sound of the wind blowing through the open bottles may just make a believer out of you, too. So, drink the wine and hang the bottles on the nearest tree (just push the open end down on the limb) and maybe, just maybe, your evil spirits will be destroyed too.
